PICKLEBALL

New for 2025! Two Pickleball Courts have been constructed adjacent to the Volleyball sand pit. This new and exciting activity has taken the country by storm. All necessary equipment is provided.

GAZEEBALL PAVILION

Added to the camp in 2024, this large covered pavilion with LED lighting has become a camper favorite with games playing well into the night. Players are located in stationary positions and attempt to score goals on the opposing team. Imagine playing soccer with your hands while feet are glued to the floor!

ZIP LINE

Fly across the pond on 500 feet of Zip Line. This exhilarating activity is a favorite of many guests. All necessary equipment is provided and experienced operators are required for this activity. The weight limit for the Zip Line is 160 pounds.

INDOOR ACTIVITY CENTER

Regulation Basketball Court with adjustable goals, complemented by an upper level game loft and a full service concession stand below overlooking the Volleyball sand pit.

NAME THIS GAME!

We aren't exactly sure what to call this activity. Some of the suggestions previous campers have made include; human pinball, air bag combat and the current favorite - soccer bowling! Whatever you call it, this activity is a huge favorite with campers.

CHESS SET SUPER SIZE

Enjoy a game of chess on a ground level board 8 feet square with pieces that reach almost 2 feet in height. By popular demand a roof was added last year and more than one pair of players flirted with missing supper rather than quit a game with the winner still undetermined.

FIRE PIT

Centered in the middle of the main meadow is the fire pit. Guests gather here to roast marshmallows and share the Gospel and testimonials. Stools surround the fire for seating but feel free to bring a blanket to stretch out and stay a while to warm your soul.

GENERAL STORE

The General Store offers a variety of items for purchase from GCR memorabilia, refreshments, sundries, and reading material. 100% of the proceeds from the General Store go to support the mission of Greenbrier Christian Retreat.

HAY RIDE

Enjoy an old-fashioned hayride on our wagon pulled by our modern tractor horses. The wagon seats up to 25 people and is a fun way to take in the beauty of GCR as well as to go to and from Little Clear Creek and the other water activities. A licensed and experienced driver will be provided by the camp for tractor operation. As a reminder, the operation of all camp vehicles and equipment is restricted to authorized camp employees and staff. Golf carts, when available, are the exception but a drivers license is required. Please be aware and cautious of wildlife and bees during all outdoor activities.

SPORTS & GAMES

We also have a regulation-size basketball court on the property. Hoops are adjustable so that all ages and abilities can step up to the free throw line and bank a shot! Basketballs are provided, along with bleacher seating for the fans.

Our regulation-size sand volleyball court will make you feel like we brought the beach to the valley. Serve up a regulation-size ball or blow up our gigantic one for extra fun!

HIKING

Challenge your body and soul as you hike to the top of Calvary Mountain and Rock of Ages. At the top of Calvary Mountain, we have erected 3 crosses in remembrance of The Crucifixion. This is an awesome location, overlooking the Retreat, to reflect on Christ’s Ultimate Sacrifice and rejuvenate your faith. Rock of Ages will also inspire you as you make your way past several boulders to its tree-canopied summit. Several other trails wind thru our property and we encourage you to take advantage of them all.

LAZY RIVER

Little Clear Creek, or The Lazy River as we call it, runs the west side of the property and is where you will find that most people want to be on hot summer days. We provide lifejackets and inner tubes for floating down the creek or enjoying the swimming hole at the top. For more important agendas, the swimming hole lends itself to baptisms which are by no other description, AWESOME!

FISHING POND

Bring your fishing pole to enjoy early morning, before the activities of the day begin, or wind down in the evening, casting a line from the banks of one of our 3 fishing ponds. Expect to catch something but take the memories and leave the fish - they like it here at camp!

WATER SLIDE

The Water Slide is perfect for warm weather FUN! Guests can climb to the top and slide down to the pool below and usually head right back for another go. Life jackets and slide mats are provided. The Water Slide is available from May through September, weather permitting.
