Greenbrier Christian Retreat

The Barn

Restored and improved from the 1890’s barn structure, original to the property, is our main campus building. Within The Barn you will find our Sanctuary, Dining / Gathering Hall, Kitchen, and Recreation / Observation Room. The Sanctuary is equipped with a piano, projection screen and sound system. It accommodates approximately 200 seated on the main floor. Overlooking the Sanctuary is the Recreation / Observation Room where guests will find Ping Pong, Foosball and a selection of puzzles and board games. This space has bleacher style seating perfect for overflow from the Sanctuary during events. The Dinning/Gathering Hall offers cafeteria style seating for up to 200 and can be open to the Sanctuary during larger events.

Surrounding The Barn are large covered porches allowing guests to enjoy being outside while staying protected from weather. Picnic tables adorn the area providing overflow for the dinning room, space for games and comfortable gathering area to enjoy fellowship.

Bunk Houses

We currently offer 6 bunk houses (3 female and 3 male when in use for

youth bookings). Each cabin is furnished with 8 bunk beds (16 beds) in the main room centered around a common gathering table. All cabins offer 2 semi-private counselor rooms in the front of the cabin accommodating 2-3 people each. Counselor rooms may be utilized for additional guest accommodations during adult retreat bookings.

Air conditioning is available in most cabins but does require additional fees.

Little Clear Creek

Little Clear Creek, or The Lazy River as we call it, runs the west side of property and is where you will find most wanting to be on hot summer days. We provide lifejackets and inner tubes for floating down the creek or enjoy the swimming hole at the top. For more important agendas, the swimming hole lends itself to baptisms which are by no other description, AWSOME!

Fishing Pond

Bring your fishing pole to enjoy early morning, before the activities of the day begin, or wind down in the evening, casting a line from the banks of one of our 3 fishing ponds. Expect to catch something but take the memories and leave the fish…they like it here at camp!

The Water Slide is perfect warm weather FUN! Guests can climb to the top and slide down to the pool below and usually head right back for another go. Life jackets and slide mats are provided. The Water Slide is available from May through September, weather permitting. It is prohibited to use the slide during inclement weather.

Challenge your body and soul as you hike to the top of Calvary Mountain and Rock of Ages. At the top of Calvary Mountain we have erected 3 crosses in remembrance of The Crucifixion. This is an awesome location, overlooking the Retreat, to reflect on Christ’s Ultimate Sacrifice and rejuvenate your faith. Rock of Ages will also inspire you as you make your way past several boulders to its tree canopied summit. Several other trails wind thru our property and we encourage you to take advantage of them all.

RV Hook-Ups

GCR has a total of 7 recreation vehicle hook-ups. There are 4 full hook-ups that include water, sewer and power and 3 hook-ups that offer only water and sewer.

Bathing Facilities

GCR was designed as a traditional camp in that there are separate bathing facilities provided for both male and female bunk houses. Both facilities are air conditioned and offer private showering stalls with changing space, restrooms and common sink areas. Facilities are central to the cabins.
